Job Title:Planner
Job Summary:Under the direction of the Planning/Scheduling Manager, is responsible for administration, maintenance and coordination of the production planning and control of the manufacturing operations.

Description:Under the guidance of the Master Scheduler/New Products Supervisor, schedules material and labor to meet the Master Production Schedule, and interfaces with all applicable groups such as sales, engineering, etc. In addition: 1. Is responsible for understanding all areas of the Business System involving order entry, inventory, job orders, purchasing, Material Requirements Planning, and related accounting functions. 2. Material Requirements Planning responsibilities will include implementing and updating the requirements of the Master Production Schedule. Based on their area of responsibility, the planner will Run Order Action Reports, Firm and Release Job Orders, Print and Distribute appropriate job paperwork to their area of responsibility. In addition, the planner will direct Purchasing to buy purchased materials to meet the Production Schedule. The planner is responsible for rescheduling job orders and purchase orders based on the needs of the Master Production Schedule. 3. Interfaces with Engineering. The planner has total Bill of Material responsibilities based on inputs from Engineering in the form of Engineering Change Notices. The planner should keep abreast of upcoming changes and always implement them in a timely manner. 4. Interfaces with Production. The planner is responsible for resolving all Bill of Material , Engineering, Shortage, and Sales related issues related to their area of production responsibility. 5. Interfaces with Sales. The Planner is responsible for meeting Sales Order requirements and acknowledging associated requirements to the appropriate sales Group. 6. Uses Excel and Microsoft Word for writing reports in order to define status of work associated with the plannerīs area of responsibility. 7. Cross trains with information coordinator as a backup for job posting and sales order processing.
Qualifications:Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in Production/Inventory Control work assignments, and demonstrate a knowledge of M(materials) R(requirements) P(planning). APICS certified or willing to pursue certification is a must. A 4 year degree or certificate in a related discipline is desirable. Must also demonstrate the following: 1. Able to follow written and verbal directions from various people with minimum supervision. 2. Working proficiency in software tools such as Microsoft Word and/or Excel. 3. Good communications skill, both written and verbal. 4. Must be able to complete assignments and tasks in a timely manner while dealing with multiple interruptions. 5. Willing to change job responsibilities as company needs dictate.
